Our Flagship Beers

Flagship Beers

We proudly brew four main beers: a crisp Lager, strong charactered Bantam Pils, fruity Pale Ale, sunny California Wheat Ale and sour fresh Berliner Weisse. Inspired by German brewing tradition and international beer trends, our flagship beers are brewed with specially selected hops and malts. These beers are available year-round at Bergschloss and in stores.

While the Berliner Weisse is brewed in our Neukölln speciality brewery, we Gypsy brew our other 4 core range beers, in Hohenthann at the Hohenthanner Schlossbrauerei. Our head-brewer Torsten is always there for brewing and botteling and takes care of quality control of every batc. Why we currently do not brew all the beers in our own Berlin brewery, we explain HIER.

Lager

An homage to German brewing tradition. A full, malty body, fruity and grassy hop aroma, and a pleasant bitterness. Our beer is an honest Lager: versatile, distinctive and very drinkable. This original Berliner Berg beer truly blows the lid off.

The full-bodied Berliner Berg version combines the best characteristics of Germany’s favorite beers and surprises even loyal fans of hops and malt. Nothing will ever be the same again!

It focuses on a strong hop note just like the renowned Northern German Pils, with a strong, full body, like the Bohemian Pilsner, and with hints of caramel you would know from Münchner Export. It’s insanely delicious!

Brewed in Hohenthann.

Bantam Pils

The grand appearance of Pils with a strong character. Grounded, fresh and well-balanced – that’s our Bantam. The unusual name is derived from one of the lighter boxing weight categories, following the world-renowned flyweight.

But don’t be fooled! Even though its alcohol content is relatively low, this crystal clear beer is still a sly old dog. Once you take the first sip, there is no turning back.

Pale Ale

Our scene-stealing classic is the epitome of modern craft beer culture and links North American brewing art and German craft tradition. Our Berliner Berg Pale Ale unlocks the finest hops, a soft bitterness and surprises with unique flavors.

The first sip is a revelation and will send you on a trip back in time to the Brooklyn of the 90s: dim light in a gloomy dive bar, that has been converted from a car workshop into a pub, where a strongly tattooed bartender serves cheap whiskey and tremendously good craft beer, while rock music blasts from the jukebox. Welcome home.

Whether you find yourself on the West Coast or in West Berlin, this is sunset served in a bottle. The exciting combination of American hops and modern German brewing art lets you lay back and relax. Time to focus on what really matters in life, right?

But watch out! The name might not give it away: This is not a wheat beer, but an Ale. We call it “Hoppy Wheat Ale” – refreshing, slim and very enjoyable.

Berliner Weisse

This is it. Berliner Tradition, neugebraut. With our Berliner Weisse, we are reviving obscure, almost forgotten brewing techiques to recreate an old local favorite style. No bells and whistles in this beer, only barley, wheat, minimal hops and unconventional sour fermentation. You don’t even need a Schuss here. Atop the mild pilsner malt backbone expect a discreet lemon aroma, complimenting the pleasant sour taste. To fully appreciate the depth of the richer peachy flavors, you just need to drink more.

Brewed in Neukölln.
